Always Nurse Celebration

Oct 12th, 2020 | Latest News

Twice a year, we host a celebration for our Always Nurses: nurses perceived as always responsive and communicating well, as reflected by survey scores. An Always Nurse consistently out-performs his or her peers in communication, responsiveness, and compassionate, patient-centered care. We recognize these nurses twice a year based on consistent performance over 6 months. Our second recognition event of 2020, held in September, was quite different from past events because of social distancing guidelines. This celebration was particularly special because of the tremendous teamwork, endurance, and dedication our nurses have shown through the pandemic. It takes courage to do what you do and remain steadfast through change. We continue to put this event on for YOU: our dedicated nurses. We are proud to have you as a part of our healthcare team!

We want to take some time to recognize two nurses who received top awards at the event:

Cecilia Wash

Cecilia has been a nurse for 19 years and has worked in Endoscopy for the last 3 years. This is Cecilia’s 5th time being recognized as an Always Nurse! Her co-workers describe her as ALWAYS hardworking, ALWAYS helpful, and ALWAYS very kind to everyone. Her patients say that she goes above and beyond to make sure they have everything they need before even having to ask. Thank you, Cecilia, for consistently showing your co-workers and patients what it means to be an Always Nurse!

Lori Lux

Lori has been a nurse for 26 years and has been working on 5 West for 2.5 years. Her co-workers had an abundance of wonderful things to say about her, including, “Lori has a genuine heart of gold and would do anything for anyone without wanting recognition. She has such a positive attitude. Wonderful human being!” She is thought of very highly for ALWAYS lending a helping hand, ALWAYS doing the right thing, and ALWAYS taking excellent care of her patients. Her patients say that she has a sunny personality, is a great communicator, and takes extreme pride in her job. Thank you, Lori, for ALWAYS displaying joy and excellence in all you do!
