UMC continued its support of Brown Elementary in May with the Brown Elementary Teachers Appreciation Dinner at the McInturff Conference Center.
Teachers from the Lubbock Independent School District campus were invited to attend the dinner, along with their families. They received dozens of door prizes, from jewelry to coffee, donated by a host of local businesses.
UMC serves as a Partner in Education member with Brown Elementary, and the dinner is one of the hospital’s annual events for the employees at Brown.
“This night is not about UMC, it’s about you,” said Kristi Ward, who leads UMC’s sponsorship efforts of Brown. “Thank you for the jobs you do and the impact you make on our community.”
In addition to door prizes, UMC presented a video of stories from former Brown Elementary students.
“UMC is an amazing organization willing to go above and beyond in everything they are involved in, from donating school supplies to supporting and appreciating the staff at Brown Elementary,” said Staci Sumners, principal at Brown. “It was such a special night for my staff as UMC spoiled and celebrated our profession at the Appreciation Dinner. I still hear my staff talking about the night and how much fun and rewarding it was. Thank you, UMC.”
