At UMC, we love celebrating the hard work of our employees! After all, it is you who make the health system successful. We recently celebrated, for the second time, our Always Nurses for their work and dedication to patients.
We want to reinforce the impact [nurses] have on patients and our community, and we hope that it will help other staff to see their value, as well.
Patients receive a survey, in some cases multiple surveys, after receiving care at UMC. This allows us to know what we are doing well and what we need to improve on. We realized we have nurses who receive great feedback on these surveys every time. We call them our Always Nurses. They are perceived as always responsive and communicating well. We throw a dinner to celebrate these nurses each quarter.
“We hope this will allow our nursing staff to see the value in what they do,” said Melissa Sickles in UMC Service Development. “We want to reinforce the impact they have on patients and our community, and we hope that it will help other staff to see their value, as well.”
This time we had the privilege of honoring three nurses with top recognition:
Kendra Mell, BSN, RN, CLC- Family Care Unit
Courtney Aguayo, BSN, RN- NICU
Leeta Loveless, RN- STAR Center
Thank you, again, each and every one of you who make UMC the best place to receive care!
