Replenishment Testimony: Cameron Bassett

UMC Wellness and UMC Pastoral Care have partnered for about two years now to bring you Replenishment. Cameron Bassett is one of UMC’s physical therapists, and he benefitted greatly from attending our most recent Replenishment series: Sacred Rest.

Cameron, like many others, has a full plate: he works part-time as a physical therapist at UMC, while working 4 other PRN jobs, he is a leader at church, is pursuing a PhD, teaches at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and is a father of four. Despite having his hand in so many pots, he was still able to get a good 7-8 hours of sleep most nights. However, he was waking up feeling tired every day. He realized we was not getting the right kind of rest.

In going through our Sacred Rest Replenishment series, he learned there is more than one kind of rest and was able to look introspectively to find the areas of rest he was missing out on.

“I firmly believe this is for everyone,” Cameron said. “We are all busy, but if our busyness takes away from our health, then something needs to change! I have become more well-rounded and able to attend to others’ needs because my needs are met.”

Watch Cameron’s testimonial for a deeper look into how Replenishment helped him become a better, more rested person.

Our next Replenishment Series, “Taking Your Soul to Work” kicks off August 14, with multiple dates throughout the fall.
