Currently, UMCP patient representatives and UMC registration staff are using separate programs to register patients, but that is all about to change, thanks to Cerner Practice Management! Cerner Practice Management (CPM) is a new program that all clinics and the hospital will be using to register patients, beginning August 4th.
This new system is a Cerner product, just like our Electronic Health Records (EHR), that will provide integrated solutions and services to help optimize workflows across acute and ambulatory venues. Integration between Cerner’s EHR and Cerner Practice Management allows UMC and UMCP to easily navigate across all capabilities in the solution, including patient registration, scheduling appointments, patient tracking and reporting through a single platform. This will make it easier on patients that are seen in the hospital and then referred to the clinic or vice versa.
It also includes many upgraded features such as address verification, Experian eligibility, and work queues. Cerner Practice Management allows us to standardize, modernize, and consolidate workflows which grants us the opportunity to advance our mission to be the best place to work and the best place to receive healthcare!
