We are proud to bring the UMC Southwest Cancer Center under the new banner of UMC Cancer Center. This renaming reflects the same multi-disciplinary, research-based care that combines the expertise of Texas Tech Physicians with UMC’s compassionate care and technological advancements.
Stemming from patient feedback and a desire for unity under the UMC name, this change allows for clarity in marketing and outreach efforts. Providing the most sophisticated care in the region, the UMC Cancer Center continues to partner with Texas Tech Physicians to bring patients quality care.
“Although we have always been UMC’s cancer center, we are proud to officially have ‘UMC’ in front of our name,” said Sharon Shoulders, Director of the UMC Cancer Center. “UMC as a brand is recognizable—with the reputation of providing high-quality, cutting-edge care for the region. We are proud to relish in the same brand recognition.”
UMC is also excited to announce the opening of our Adult Oncology Symptom Management Clinic--a first (and only) in the region. This clinic, open after hours and on weekends, is designed to accommodate cancer patients seeking convenience and comfort in chemotherapy symptom management.
