The implementation of the Cerner Practice Management system has proven widely successful. The positive effects influence both patient and physician experience and has streamlined the whole system.

“After a lot of determination, preparation, and education, we are pleased to announce the implementation of CPM has been a success. This success comes from great planning, advice from subject matter experts, excellent project management, a supportive staff, and positive hard-working UMCP employees.  We are still in the adjustment phase with updates and upgrades coming, but we can see the positive impact this new system will have on the overall patient experience for UMC and UMC Physicians,” stated Erin Hudgens, Manager of Education and Training.

Our staff have already seen the positive results of the Cerner Practice Management:

“The initiation of CPM has permitted information on patients’ accounts to be updated or added, which has allowed for a more consistent database.  This has refined the billing process across multiple health systems and facilitates the reduction of duplicate accounts.  Address verification also assists with the communication between the Business Office and the patient.  By implementing CPM and the readily available features, the CBO’s ability to resume the positive patient experience is ensured.” Martha Rodriguez

“CPM has been a positive change in our practice. The workflow is very user friendly and streamlines the entire registration process by being able to utilize one system at the front desk. By having one registration system that is used throughout our health system, appointments can easily be collaborated which creates a positive patient experience.” Tara Minshew

“CPM has some great features that are useful with our jobs at the CBO.  When we’re in CPM, we are able to choose an option that will allow us to automatically open the patient’s account in PowerChart.  We can also see more detailed guardian and patient information.  This helps us with knowing who we can speak with concerning the patient’s account.” Crystal Flores

“Cerner Practice Management is a program that gives us the necessary tools to provide consistent registration information across the UMC Health System. This is a huge benefit to patients because they can feel confident that we are striving to provide consistency across all of our locations. This goes hand-in-hand with our mission of being the best place to receive healthcare.  First impressions start with the patient representatives and with the use of CPM it allows us to make the process of registration as simple and seamless as possible.” Monica Beardemphl
