Thanks to UMC’s Child Life department, pediatric patients, and their families, get to celebrate Halloween in a fun, interactive way.
Our Child Life Specialists teamed up with 20 UMC departments to make this fun event a reality for our kids. They reserved some space in the UMC McInturff Conference Center to set up multiple game areas, a pumpkin decorating area, and other UMC departments will set up themed tables for children to trick-or-treat at.
“Events, such as this one, really help patients and their families have a break from the stress of the health events that are happening,” said Sarah Simmons, UMC Child Life Coordinator. “We are all about bringing joy into our patients’ lives, and we know getting to have fun together on Halloween will do just that!”
Each pediatric patient will receive a costume to keep, and the UMC departments participating will provide candy and/or special treats (coloring books, stickers, etc.) for all pediatric patients and their siblings.
