2020 UMC Nurse of the Year

Q: What is being a nurse at UMC like?

A: Being a nurse at UMC has been amazing! Everyone here is phenomenal. Transitioning from nurse’s aid to nurse to charge nurse means I have done lots of growing here, and my coworkers have walked with me through it all.

Q: What is it like being a nurse on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic?

A: We have been very firm, not fearful in our practice, and we have been a true team, hospital-wide. Other nursing units have gone out of their way to help us, as a COVID-designated unit, in any way needed. We all encourage each other each day.

Q: How does it feel to be named UMC’s 2020 Nurse of the Year

A: I never, in a million years, thought I’d be voted Nurse of the Year! It’s such an honor, and I was overwhelmed to be selected. But it feels great to know I represent UMC in a positive way.
