We have already set ourselves apart in our quality of breast care, but now we have even better to offer to our breast patients!
First, we are putting finishing touches on our new Breast Imaging Center, located in MOP II. Construction helped execute our vision to create a woman-friendly, spa-like space. It features a women’s-only wing, spa-like music and beautiful décor with pink tones. Additionally, the flow of care has been made better by making sure teams are working as one—from schedulers to radiology techs.
Second, the UMC Cancer Center Breast Center of Excellence was awarded a grant from Susan G. Komen® North & West Texas. This project is designed to assist uninsured and underinsured patients and seeks to encourage women who have never had a mammogram to have one for screening purposes. It will also help to support those who have previous screenings but remain unable to pay for additional screenings. The second portion of this grant seeks to assist patients in covering the cost of treatment, as well as transportation to the UMC Cancer Center.
We are excited for these avenues to continue to enhance care in this capacity!
