Information Technology is an integral part of how UMC delivers care. Their services, provided by the 6 different departments within IT, are invaluable to providing secure and fast solutions focused on fulfilling patient’s needs. They strive to help everyone with technology questions and issues, from fielding about 3,600 service calls per month to blocking 700,000 malicious attempts each week.
In addition to these functions, this department uses technology to analyze data for our healthcare providers, allowing them to in turn provide quality care to patients.
This dedicated team creates support strategies to enhance the patient experience through the use of technology, making healthcare organized and innovative. This includes our mobile apps, such as UMC Pregnancy and MyTeamCare Now, wayfinding, shuttle pick-up, and Physician Finder. Maintaining that 85% of their projects are on time, IT seeks to promote efficiency, proper use of resources, and ensure value from our technological investments.
