  • Employee of the Month

    Clarissa Cantu

    Clarissa Cantu, BSN, RN

"A patient was fighting for her life against COVID-19 and requested the services of a priest. When our Pastoral Care Department was having trouble reaching one, Clarissa set up a FaceTime with her own priest and allowed the family and patient time with him. He delivered the Anointing of the Sick blessing, and Clarissa finished it by making the symbol of the cross over the patient since the priest wasn’t present to. We admire your compassion!"
  • Attending of the Month

    Craig Barker

    Craig Barker, MD

    UMC Physicians, Family Medicine

"Dr. Barker is a selfless leader who played a major role in COVID testing in Lubbock. He put in extra hours to support the drive-up clinic, ensured patients got results as soon as possible and led efforts to advance our testing capabilities by fostering relationships and researching. His leadership has been key during this pandemic."
  • House Staff of the Month

    Jeannie Nguyen

    Jeannie Nguyen, MD

    TTUHSC, Dept. of Dermatology

"Dr. Nguyen is everything we needed in the Department of Dermatology. She is a constant force for good! Dr. Nguyen singlehandedly organized telemedicine
for our clinic when COVID hit, organized all cases for our annual Texas Dermatology meeting and didn’t complain when it was cancelled. Her professionalism is unmatched, and she is deserving of this award."
