UMC Offers Valet Parking for Patients and Visitors

UMC is pleased to announce that, beginning today, valet parking is available for patients and visitors. UMC has partnered with Premier Parking to provide this new amenity.

“Services we provide to patients and families go well beyond clinical care,” said Aaron Davis, Chief Experience Officer at UMC. “It’s important to us that we offer services that create access, ease and comfort, while providing high quality care to individuals and loved ones. One way we accomplish this is through valet parking.”

The cost of valet parking at UMC is $5; valet service for vehicles with a handicap placard or license plate is free of charge. Cash or credit is accepted.

How to use valet parking at UMC: Drive under the canopy, and pull up through the middle lane, directly in front of the hospital’s main entrance. A Premier Parking Valet Associate will collect information from the patient or visitor and will provide a claim ticket. To retrieve your car, simply show the claim ticket to a valet associate or text the associate ahead of time (the number is provided on the claim ticket) to have your car back quicker.

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 9AM-7PM, excludes holidays. *If a patient or visitor is unable to return to the valet podium before 7PM, their keys will be secured with UMC’s Security Department.

UMC looks forward to granting our consumers access to our health system in a convenient, affordable manner.

UMC Calls for Blood Donations during Nationwide Shortage

Across the nation communities are experiencing critical blood shortages, including
Lubbock. This time of the year can be difficult for people battling cancer, undergoing
surgery or suffering from injuries in accidents. Dramatically low blood supply levels also
leave the community vulnerable to crisis events that may require large numbers of
transfusions.

To help alleviate the shortage, UMC is asking everyone in the South Plains to give at a
community blood drive at the South Plains Mall on Saturday. We are hoping for at least
100 donations.

All blood donors will receive two movie tickets and two vouchers for popcorn from
Premiere Cinemas. Those donating blood should set aside one to two hours of their time,
depending on donation type. UMC is working with its blood provider, the South Texas
Blood & Tissue Center, to conduct the drive. Donors can schedule a donation by visiting:
