UMC is excited to announce the opening of our new Urgent Care Center at MOP II. The center will open on September 14 and provide care for non-emergent patients or patients who are experiencing minor symptoms.
The UMC Emergency Center (EC) is committed to saving lives, but like other emergency centers in the nation, we are experiencing greater numbers of patients seeking our services. Each year, UMC serves over 75,000 patients in our EC, with over 50% of these patients seeking non-emergent care.
The results are an over-crowded EC with busy exam rooms and less time to treat patients with critical emergencies. Our goal is to service the community the best way we can, which is why we are opening a new 24-hour, 7 day a week Urgent Care Center, which will be located in MOP II.
Patients who come to the EC will be evaluated by a qualified medical provider and the non-emergent patients will be referred to urgent care clinics of the patient’s choice, including the new location on campus.
Urgent care clinics are designed to provide faster access to excellent care, with less cost. We are excited for UMC’s newest addition, and will continue to grow our health system to give the community the best care possible!
