Your Dollars Make a Difference

Last month we held our 22nd annual KLLL Radiothon. Each year, the UMC Foundation partners with this local radio station to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network at UMC’s Children’s Hospital, and this year, we raised over $79,000. This brings our grand total to $4.1 million dollars raised through all of our Radiothon events! All of these funds benefit the Children’s Miracle Network right here, providing state of the art equipment for the children of South Plains and Eastern New Mexico.

“This partnership with KLLL is really important to CMN,” said Allison Hays, Development Officer in the UMC Foundation. “It is a powerful relationship that shows children’s health is a passion for them and for us.”

Along with the Radiothon, 40 local schools and school districts participated in Miracle Pennies, another CMN fundraiser. Local kids donated their quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies to help kids receiving care at UMC. The total raised from Miracle Pennies was a whopping $48,000!

Each of these donations are being put to great use! In addition to providing state-of-the-art technology to care better for our pediatric patients, CMN donations have recently gone toward:

  1. The first Children’s Behavioral Health Clinic, opened at UMC in partnership with TTU
  2. UMC Children’s Hospital Pinwheel signage more visible and prominent throughout our campus. The community will begin to associate the pinwheel with UMC Children’s Hospital. Although it’s always been our symbol, we want everyone to know and recognize this part of our brand.
  3. And coming soon, a new Children’s Emergency Center, with separate entrance and waiting area.

We are so humbled to know our community truly believes in the care UMC provides children each and every day. It’s because of you that we are able to provide the best care in the region.
