Loli Reyna

Please help us congratulate Loli Reyna as our February 2022 DAISY Nurse!

Loli was making a post op phone call routinely checking on one of our patients who recently had surgery. He mentioned to her he still had not received his pain medications that were supposed to have been sent to the VA, and he was in quite a bit of pain and needed them. Loli then called the VA to figure out why the patient had not received his prescriptions and the VA informed her their electronic system for receiving prescriptions was down, so they had not received any prescriptions to fill. Loli then called to get his prescriptions faxed from our UMC pharmacy to the VA, however the VA informed her the prescriptions would not be ready that day. Loli instead had his prescriptions filled at our UMC pharmacy that day, paid for them herself, and even dropped them off to the patient since he didn’t have a ride to get them. The patient also mentioned he would not get paid until sometime and that ice was helping with the pain, so Loli also took the patient some ice. Loli also made sure to call our pharmacy and inform them of the VA systems being down so this didn’t happen to another patient. She always goes above and beyond for our patients; she consistently tries to use her skill and knowledge to benefit our patients in any way she can. She stayed on the phone, made several phone calls to many different people to get the problem solved, and to make sure it didn’t happen to another patient. We are lucky to have a nurse like her on our unit.

We are proud to honor Loli Reyna as our February 2022 DAISY Recipient!
