Comprehensive Joint Replacement (CJR) Model

UMC participates in a Medicare initiative called the Comprehensive Joint Replacement (CJR) model, which aims to promote excellent quality care and financial accountability for care surrounding lower-extremity joint replacement procedures, such as total knee replacements and total hip replacements. The CJR model is expected to lower the cost of care to Medicare, but your costs for covered care will not increase due to these changes.

UMC actively works closely with each member of the team who will care for you during your hospital stay and through your recovery 90 days after being discharged from the hospital. By working together, your care team is planning more efficient, high quality care as you undergo your specific lower-extremity joint replacement.

If you have questions or want more information regarding the CJR model, call 1.800.MEDICARE. You can also find additional information online at innovation.cms.gov/initiatives/cjr
