The clinic will be located on 98th and Frankford, to accommodate the growing population in South Lubbock. The building will be two stories: the first floor will be pediatrics, and the second floor will be family medicine. The clinic will also have drive-thru testing for things like COVID, flu, and strep. This will mark history as UMC will have one of the first clinics in the country to test for certain illness from the comfort of the patient's car. The new campus will also be open for extended hours and on weekends.
"The UMC Family and Children's Clinic is important because it gives us a chance to serve the community and the growing population in South Lubbock," said Glen Frick, Executive Vice President and UMCP Executive Officer, "and the drive-thru service provides an innovative step for the future of healthcare."
