HRO

As most of you know, UMC has a goal of being a High Reliability Organization (HRO). This means, although we operate in high risk environments, we aim for ZERO preventable harm. 

We are so proud to have multiple units making huge strides in achieving HRO! 

These units operated with Zero harm in the nurse-sensitive indicators in the Fourth Quarter (October-December):

These units operated ONE YEAR with Zero preventative harm in the nurse sensitive indicators:

  • NICU

Zero Falls with injury:

  • Outpatient Surgery 

Zero CLABSI (Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection):

  • PICU

These units are continuing at Zero preventative harm for 5-7 quarters (a year or more) in the nurse sensitive indicators:

Zero HAPI:

  • PICU

Zero MDRPI (Medical Device Related Pressure Injury):

  • 3 West
  • GT/SCU
  • NICU

Zero CLABSI (Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection):

  • 3 West
  • 4 West
  • Neuro ICU

Zero CAUTI (Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection):
