    Buffalo Wild Wings continues to offer its generous support to UMC Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) with the Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) Golf Tournament. This is the 15th year they have hosted this event.

  • South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital Opening 26 Additional Beds to Support Community Need
    This month, South Plains Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of UMC Health System and Encompass Health, will open 26 new private rooms to treat patients in need of a hospital-level of care for rehabilitation services. With the addition of 26 beds, the hospital, located at 5406 Colgate Street, can now serve up to 66 patients at a time. The hospital will open the additional beds for patient care beginning August 3.

  • Veteran Advisory Council
    On June 1, UMC hosted the very first Veteran Advisory Council. Lead by Tim Howell, UMC Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Veteran Advisory Council, much like the Patient Advisory Council, investigates how we as a healthcare system can improve care of our veterans with help from the Veteran Affairs Clinic. After attending a similar council in 2018, Howell decided to bring the idea to life at UMC, so that veterans had a place to ask questions about their healthcare while also bringing forward issues they face when it comes to healthcare.

    Month of Miracles is an exciting fundraising event for UMC Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) to be held during the month of August. Local businesses will fundraise the entire month and all donations will directly benefit UMC Children’s Hospital and CMN.

    More than 700 children a year in Texas are injured due to motor vehicle crashes. And three out of four car seats are installed wrong. Having a car seat, and making sure it is installed properly, can help lessen the chances of injury and death in an accident. That's why UMC wants to partner with caretakers to protect the children of our region by providing a free car seat to those in need!

    UMC knows teachers go above and beyond every day to enrich the lives of children in our community—even more so this last year with having to find new ways to connect with and continue to teach students in the midst of a pandemic. This year, UMC said thank you to the staff of Brown Elementary School on May 26th with a mask-uerade themed Teacher Appreciation Dinner.
