UMC Emergent Care provides immediate medical interventions with a Level 1 Trauma Center, the highest designation by the Texas Department of Health. UMC is about more than saving lives—we provide rehabilitation in our state-of-the-art Burn Center, comfort in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and attentive support to all of our patients.
Emergent Care Services and Programs
UMC’s Timothy J. Harnar Regional Burn Center is one of only four American Burn Association (ABA) verified burn centers in Texas and is one of 47 regional burn centers in the United States.
Children’s Emergency Center
The brand-new UMC Children’s Emergency Center is an emergency room just for kids, with access to more resuscitation and trauma rooms than any other hospital in West Texas.
UMC EMS has proudly served the City of Lubbock and the surrounding areas since 1975. We are committed to our community's health and safety through the continuous improvement of our systems and process, just as we have done for over 40 years.
Level 1 Trauma Center
As a Level I Trauma Center, UMC has a fully trained team of staff members in all areas of the hospital ready to respond and care for trauma patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Newborn babies who need intensive medical attention are often admitted into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU combines technology and trained healthcare professionals to provide specialized care for our patients.
Trauma Rehabilitation and Support
Two integral pieces of the recovery process for the injured patient are rehabilitation and support.
