At UMC, our passion is your well-being. So, whether you are managing a chronic condition, dealing with an unexpected illness, or simply working to stay healthy throughout your life, our focus is on providing a wide range of clinical expertise along with an exceptional healthcare experience. Our Passion is You.

During the last 40 years UMC-- a public hospital for the citizens of Lubbock County-- has become a health system we can be proud of and a great investment for Lubbock County taxpayers. Together with UMC Physicians, UMC has seen an increase in market share, demand for service, and growth in reputation. Even during difficult economic times, sound financial planning has allowed the system to thrive.

UMC's team has over 4,600 employees who serve an organization Texas Monthly has recognized as “one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas®.” And we have never served more patients than we do now with 495 beds.

UMC is the primary teaching hospital for the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. UMC has helped Texas Tech train over 10,000 healthcare professionals and counting.

Texas Tech Physicians are leaders in patient care, education and research. And Texas Tech Physicians, residents, and students help UMC form a leading medical team that only a teaching hospital can provide. www.ttuhsc.edu/patient-care

UMC, UMCP and the Texas Tech School of Medicine all share a common electronic medical record (EMR). This record provides a firm foundation for upcoming challenges such as accountable care organizations and reimbursement limitations.
