Women’s health is important to us at UMC, and we want to make keeping up with your recommended mammograms as easy and enjoyable as possible. Rakhshanda Rahman, M.D.

Rakhshanda L. Rahman graduated from the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, where she completed her internship and residency. Dr. Rahman then spent several years furthering her studies, completing fellowships in breast and general surgery at Aga Khan. She then completed another fellowship at the University of Arkansas for the Medical Sciences Division of Surgical Oncology in 2004.

After joining the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2009, Dr. Rahman led the formation of the first nationally accredited breast center of excellence in the Texas Panhandle. Currently, she is the director of both the UMC Southwest Cancer Center Breast Center of Excellence and the Amarillo Breast Center of Excellence. She is also a Tenured Professor of Surgery for the TTUHSC School of Medicine.

Dr. Rahman is the only breast surgeon in West Texas with certification in ultrasound guided breast procedures and has an exclusive focus on diseases of the breast.
