Cynthia had a patient’s grandmother on her shuttle who had just flown into town to visit him. The lady mentioned that she left home without any luggage or clothes. Cynthia decided to take her shopping and then found out the woman hadn’t eaten and gave her the burrito she bought herself for lunch. Thank you, Cynthia, for showing Service is our Passion!
Award Type: Spirit of Service
Skyler Meloy – Advanced Practice Professional of the Quarter
On the day of my husband’s surgery, Skyler was compassionate and kind to us all. He put us at ease, and even took a photo of our family that morning. My kids appreciated it. Thank you for your kindness, Skyler!
Divya Vangipuram – House Staff of the Month – March 2022
Our patient was very nervous about a scheduled bone biopsy. Dr. Vangipuram assured the patient that she would stay in the room to make sure she was comfortable and would keep her informed throughout the process. Her kindness meant so much to the patient!
Robert Johnston – Attending of the Month – March 2022
During a recent emergency in our unit involving a baby, Dr. Johnston kept control of the situation by maintaining a very calm atmosphere. Because of this, the result was extremely positive. Dr. Johnston is kind and always has the well-being of the staff and patients at heart. Thank you for all you do!
Cheyenne Clevenger – Employee of the Month – March 2022
My mother had been in pain all day, but when Cheyenne came in the room you could feel the love! Watching her care for my mother was so beautiful. My mother mentioned she liked Cheyenne’s nails, and the next day Cheyenne came to work an hour early to paint my mother’s nails the same color as hers. Cheyenne is a blessing to anyone who meets her!
Anthony Betteridge – House Staff of the Month – January 2022
We are appreciative of Dr. Betteridge and his compassion for others! He recently was hands-on, going above and beyond during a difficult medical procedure. His caring nature for the patients and staff stands out. Thanks for all you do!
Brenda Martinez – Attending of the Month – January 2022
Dr. Martinez showed extreme compassion to a family with an autistic child. The patient was admitted and became irritable and overstimulated due to the uncommon environment. Dr. Martinez came up with a plan to treat the patient from home and the family could not be more grateful!
Lendi Ehlers – Employee of the Month – January 2022
My father was near to passing away, and my brothers were driving to Lubbock to say their final goodbyes. My dad was cheering on the Red Raiders in their football game as his breathing became more labored. Lendi recommended a machine to support his breathing that didn’t require sedation that way we could spend quality time with him. Lendi’s plan worked, and we are so thankful for her thoughtfulness!
Ron Caporale – Advanced Practice Professional of the Quarter – December 2021
In my recent trip to the Urgent Care Center, I am truly grateful that Ron Caporale was on duty. He was efficient in diagnosing the problem, while also providing a solution. This was definitely the best visit I have ever had at a clinic. Thank you, Ron, for all your help and compassion!
Sean Simpson – House Staff of the Month – December 2021
Dr. Simpson is caring and attentive—not just with patients, but also with nursing staff. He makes sure everyone has a voice in care and is someone we can always count on. We are so glad Dr. Simpson is a part of our care team!
Mark Reedy – Attending of the Month – December 2021
One month ago, my wife was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer. Dr. Mark Reedy immediately prepared us and arranged for my wife to be admitted, and within 24 hours she underwent extensive surgery to try and address her situation. Dr. Reedy has been there for us, and we cannot thank him and the nursing staff enough!
Dalton Wren – Employee of the Month – December 2021
Dalton ran a call where an intoxicated woman was taken away by law enforcement, and her 6-year-old son was still on scene with nowhere to go. The child hadn’t eaten all day, so Dalton took him to Chick-Fil-A, bought him a meal, and hung out with him until CPS arrived. Dalton went above and beyond his responsibilities as a UMC Paramedic, and showed that service is truly his passion.
