Award Type: Spirit of Service

Hannah Cunningham – Employee of the Month – August 2021

Hannah works with one of our long-term ostomy patients who happens to be homeless. She often takes ostomy supplies to this gentleman, and one day she found him walking down the middle of Avenue Q and helped him to safety before handing off his supplies. Hannah received a “Manage Up” in recognition of helping decrease this patient’s Emergency Center visits from 29 in a calendar year to 7 the last calendar year!

Htun Latt – House Staff of the Month – July 2021

Dr. Latt is such a pleasure to work with. Working with tenacity and timeliness, he never fails to assess and address any concerns the patient or families may have. His confidence in the staff to provide exceptional care makes working with him even better. He’s a great asset to the UMC Team!

Jamie Felberg – Attending of the Month – July 2021

During difficult times, Dr. Felberg is  always willing to go out of his way for his patients. He never fails to provide the most compassionate care and not only cares for the patient but their families as well. He keeps a positive outlook and is always willing to help in any way he can.

Jada Chapa – Employee of the Month – July 2021

We had a patient with a critical complication of pregnancy that is associated with up to a 30% maternal mortality rate. It was around Christmas time, and she had three children at home that could not visit because of COVID. Jada was so kind and took up a monetary collection from the nursing staff and purchased Christmas gifts for the patient and her children. She raised enough money to purchase clothes and toys for each member of the family. This was such an amazing act of kindness!

Kati Brown – June 2021 – Employee of the Month

Upon our arrival to the Family Birth Center, my wife and I were informed that one of our twins had passed away. After our induced delivery, Kati arranged a baptism so that our twins could be together to welcome God’s blessing as well as ensuring we had an ample amount of time with them both as a few days later, our son passed away. We appreciate Kati and her compassionate and empathetic care during this difficult time.

Mohammad Ansari – May 2021 – Attending of the Month

Dr. Ansari visited with a patient who had some issues with the department’s communication. Dr. Ansari took complete ownership of the miscommunication and spent time visiting with the patient and his family in a compassionate manner. He truly demonstrated Service is our Passion.
