Shared Governance
The Department of Nursing at UMC commits to shared governance as the mechanism for creating an environment which encourages continuous innovation, ongoing education, and a commitment to excellence.
We uphold the basic tenets of shared governance which include accountability-based practice, open communication, collaboration, coaching and mentoring, team building, and mutual respect and trust.
The Shared Governance program includes unit-specific Standards of Practice Committees and a house-wide Patient Care and Quality Council.
