CMN Miracle Kid Spotlight

In the summer of 2017, Addyson Newberry began experiencing pain in her right hip. By November, the pain worsened and her mom, Kyra, an NICU nurse at UMC, contacted Dr. Michel Diab, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon.

Welcome Dr. Fike, Pediatric Surgeon

We are delighted to welcome Frankie Fike M.D., a board-certified Pediatric Surgeon, to the UMC Children’s Hospital as a part of our leading pediatric care team! She cares for all pediatric patients—from neonates in our Neonatal ICU to teenagers.

Building a Better Kitchen

Our new kitchen is almost complete, and we are extremely excited for it! The new 6,000-square-foot space has many advantages for our Food and Nutrition team, including more space to prep, cook and work and brand new equipment that will help produce a wider variety of meals for patients, visitors and staff.

Congratulations to Autumn Harris, 2020 UMC Nurse of the Year! Being selected as Nurse of the Year is an honor, and Autumn is excited to be bestowed with it. She has been a nurse at UMC for 5 years, but has worked here, specifically on 4 West, for 7 years.

First Responder Antibody Testing

On May 7, UMC Lab officially began providing free antibody testing to area first responders—providing them with an opportunity to determine if they have been exposed to COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
